Keningau teachers presented mobile app at a virtual conference in Turkey

Mr. Waslee Razalee and Ms. Sharifah Razhana Hj. Akarab from Keningau Vocational College have recently presented a mobile app that they designed to teach essays in English language at a conference virtually hosted by Middle East Congress in Ankara, Turkey. The Middle East International Conference on Contemporary Scientific Studies was held on 27-28 March 2021 and it featured over 200 presentations by delegates who mostly come from the Middle East, Europe and Africa. The recorded presentation of this team can be accessed via YouTube.

Mr. Waslee is an English language teacher and Ms. Sharifah is a history teacher. These teachers decided to explore a practical way of reaching out to their students particularly during these times of uncertainty where remote learning is the new norm. They felt that creating their own mobile app with the existing software could help them customize the features and content of the digital material so that it could cater to their students’ need better. They named the mobile app “Go English Writing” since its purpose is to familiarize students with the basics in essay writing. Mr. Johari @ Jaibet Bin Sabin, the director of Keningau Vocational College, expressed his delight that the teachers at the college began to venture into technology-based solutions to tackle issues related to teaching. He claimed that the college is committed in delivering the best learning experience to every student.
